Synopsis

At the Future Art Exhibition in Los Angeles, USA, gallery owners, agents, artists, collectors, critics, art consultants, and wealthy buyers mingled, chatting and laughing, with their conversations inevitably circling back to art and the money that accompanies it. A young woman in the art scene named Josephine (played by Zawe Ashton) discovers the unexpected death of an unknown artist living in the same apartment building. Upon accidentally walking into his home, Josephine is overwhelmed by a large collection of undisclosed artworks. She takes the paintings to a critic named Moe (played by Jake Gyllenhaal), with whom she has a romantic relationship, and he quickly realizes the immense value behind these pieces. Soon, everyone in the industry, like flies drawn to rotten meat, flocks to these mysterious works. Meanwhile, Moe begins to investigate the past of the enigmatic painter named Viterl Dees. Viterl's paintings seem to possess endless magic and life, attracting people and influencing their destinies...
