Fang Shiyu (played by Jet Li), Lei Tingting (played by Maggie Cheung), and Chen Jialuo (played by Adam Cheng) arrive at the headquarters of the Honghua Club. While the Honghua Club is thriving, internal struggles for power have not ceased. The hall leader, Yu Zhenhai (played by Ji Chunhua), is dissatisfied with his father passing leadership to Chen Jialuo, and several attempts to assassinate him have failed. Fang Shiyu publicly reprimands him, leading to a feud between the two.Chen Jialuo orders Shiyu and others to seize a brocade box escorted by the Fusang warriors. Despite the assistance of Miao Cuihua (played by Siu Fong Fong), the mission fails, and during this time, Shiyu encounters An Er (played by Kwan Aimee), the daughter of the Governor of Guangdong, whom he secretly admires. In a critical moment, An Er saves Shiyu and the others' lives. Shiyu is humiliated and is deceived by Chen Jialuo into renouncing his martial arts. The secret inside the brocade box is discovered by Yu Zhenhai, leading to Li Guobang's (played by Yuen Kwei) death and Chen Jialuo's imprisonment, with Yu Zhenhai ascending to the leader of the headquarters. Fang Shiyu returns after recovering, ready to eliminate the traitors within the Honghua Club at all costs.
