 Synopsis
Xu Xi (Jet Li) was originally a cold-blooded assassin in the mysterious killer organization, the 701 unit. Tired of being a tool for murder, he fled the organization and arrived in Hong Kong, where he transformed into an ordinary library clerk. There, he befriended police officer Shi Sir, but the 701 unit resurfaced in Hong Kong, pursuing a gang leader, leaving Shi Sir and the police helpless. Seeing his friend in danger, Xu Xi stepped up as the Black Hero. The Black Hero infuriated the 701 unit's leader, Xiong Ju (Long Gang), who then sent Xu Xi's ex-lover, Ruo Lan, to persuade the Black Hero to surrender. Xu Xi firmly rejected her, resulting in the deaths of all his library colleagues except Tracy (Miriam Yeung). To protect Tracy, Xu Xi, as the Black Hero, took a tough stance to take her away, but she refused, unaware that the Black Hero was actually her love interest, Xu Xi. During the confrontation with Xiong Ju and others, Xu Xi gradually found the emotional connection he longed for through Tracy.
