 Synopsis
The story begins in 1898 in a city called La Coruña in the northwest of Spain. Marcela (played by Greta Fernández) is a new student at a convent, where she meets a girl named Elisa (played by Natalia de Molina). The two girls quickly develop a deep friendship, and this friendship gradually transforms into innocent love. This forbidden relationship was of course not acceptable at the time, and to separate the two, Marcela's father sends his daughter to another school in Madrid. Three years pass in the blink of an eye, and by this time Elisa is teaching in a small village, while Marcela resolutely goes to find her. The two lovers finally reunite. However, in the end, their love cannot withstand societal criticism, and Elisa chooses to leave, while Marcela marries a man.
