 Synopsis
After a romantic relationship between China and France blossomed in Beijing, Hua (played by Ren Jie) decides to resign from her teaching job in Beijing and travel to Paris to win back her boyfriend, but ultimately she fails to make him rethink his decision. Wandering in a strange city, lost, Hua encounters a French blue-collar worker named Mathieu (played by Tahar Rahim), who immediately dotes on this Chinese girl and violently claims her, while the desperate Hua accidentally develops feelings for Mathieu. Although Mathieu loves Hua passionately, he and his friends seem to consistently view Hua as a whore, creating a growing chasm between them. The aimless days in Paris and the emotional struggles with Mathieu lead Hua to start thinking about home; she begins to explore what she truly wants between sex and love, freedom and nostalgia...
